Firearm Transfers
Purchased a firearm from an online retailer, auction site, another dealer, or a private seller? Simply have it shipped to JS1 Firearms, and we'll handle the transfer process.
Transfer Fees

Before You Purchase
- 1Select JS1 Firearms as your receiving FFL, or have the seller request a copy of our FFL.
- 2Call or email us with your name and where you made your purchase so we know to expect your shipment.
- 3Ask the seller to include your name and order number with the shipment whenever possible.
Picking Up Your Firearm
We'll contact you once your firearm has been received, logged into our inventory, and is ready for pickup.
What to Bring
- A valid government-issued photo ID showing your current residential address.
- A valid Minnesota Permit to Purchase or Minnesota Permit to Carry, if required for the firearm being transferred.
At pickup, you'll complete ATF Form 4473 and the required background check before taking possession of your firearm. Firearms cannot be transferred until all applicable federal and Minnesota laws have been satisfied.
Pickup is by appointment to ensure prompt service.
Suppressor (NFA) Transfers & Purchases
Purchasing your first suppressor? Already have one on the way? JS1 Firearms will guide you through every step of the ATF eForms process, making it as simple and hassle-free as possible.
Transfer Fee

per suppressor
Includes receiving, preparing paperwork, and assisting with your ATF eForms submission.

Many electronically filed individual Form 4 applications are currently being approved in about one week. Times may vary.
Current Federal Transfer Tax: $0
As of today, the federal transfer tax for qualifying suppressor transfers is $0.
What You'll Need
To complete your ATF Form 4 application, you'll need a passport-style photo and fingerprints.
Passport-Style Photo
Your photo must:
- Be taken within the last year
- Be in color
- Show your full face
- Have a plain white or off-white background
- Be free of hats, sunglasses, or anything that obscures your face
Where to get one:
- Passport photo app on your smartphone
- CVS / Walgreens / Walmart
- UPS Store / FedEx Office
- Local photography studios
Fingerprints
The ATF accepts either electronic fingerprint (.EFT) files or traditional FD-258 fingerprint cards.
Option 1 — Electronic (.EFT) Recommended
Fastest option. EFT files can typically be reused for future ATF eForms applications.

Option 2 — FD-258 Cards
Available from local police departments, county Sheriff's offices, and commercial fingerprint providers. Many providers can convert cards to EFT for future use.
